Peugeot 206 Windshield Wipers Fail
Summary of the thread
A 2006 Peugeot 206 owner reported that the windshield wipers were non-functional, despite the fuse being intact, and an error code was present. The issue was suspected to be related to the wiper motor or a faulty connection. Suggestions included checking the wiring and connectors to the wiper motor and switch, as well as considering interference from the cruise control switch or a rain sensor. The problem was resolved by cleaning a dodgy connector, restoring the wipers to working order.

Good shout. Where exactly should I be looking for these connectors? Are they easy to get to, or am I going to be wrestling around under the dashboard for hours?

The main connector for the wiper motor is usually directly on the motor itself, under the plastic cowl at the base of the windshield. For the switch, you'll need to get to the back of the steering wheel column. If you're not comfortable poking around there, it might be worth getting a workshop to check it out. Based on the error code and symptoms you mentioned, it's probably a defective cable or plug connection. A workshop might charge you around 95€ to fix it. Also, could be the rain sensor if your car has one.

Cheers for the advice! Took it to a local garage, and you were spot on – dodgy connector. They cleaned it up, and all is working as it should. Appreciate the help!

Sounds like a faulty connection somewhere, especially if the fuse is okay. Think of it like a dodgy light switch – the power is there, but the connection is broken. Before diving into the motor, have you checked the wiring and connectors going to the wiper motor and the switch itself? Could also be the cruise control switch interfering, if yours has one. That can mess with the wipers sometimes.
