Peugeot 207 Active Hood Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Peugeot 207 displayed an "Active hood fault" message and an airbag light, with a code indicating an issue with the active hood system. The problem was suspected to be related to crash detection, possibly involving the spring actuators. A similar issue was resolved by replacing a defective acceleration sensor, which is part of the active hood system designed to protect pedestrians in a crash. Following this advice, the faulty sensor was replaced, resolving the issue.

Thanks for the reply! No, the hood itself seems totally normal, thankfully. Just the error message and the airbag light. Did yours end up being a sensor issue or something more complicated? I'm trying to avoid a massive repair bill if I can!

Okay, that's good news about the hood itself. Honestly, mine was a defective acceleration sensor. It's part of the active hood system, which is designed to pop the hood up a bit in a crash to protect pedestrians. Apparently, the sensor got a bit overzealous and thought I was crashing when I wasn't! I'd definitely get it checked out by a pro. Might save you some headaches!

Thanks a bunch! Took your advice and brought it to the shop. Turns out you were spot on – faulty acceleration sensor! New sensor installed and error cleared for 315€ Appreciate the help!

Whoa, that sounds familiar! I had something similar happen with my 207. The "Active hood fault" message popped up out of nowhere, scared me. Does it feel like anything is actually happening with the hood, or is it just the warning? When these systems go haywire, it can be super annoying!
