Peugeot 207 Automatic Transmission Torque Converter Issue

Thanks! Yes, I've seen a slight increase in fuel consumption, not drastic. Engine RPMs fluctuate more, especially when the transmission slips. The transmission fluid level seems normal, but the fluid looks darker than I'd expect. What was the diagnosis for your vehicle, and what repairs were needed?

The dark fluid is bad! Sounds like the torque converter is failing. My 207 had similar symptoms, and it was a faulty torque converter lock-up clutch. The transmission had to be removed, and the torque converter replaced. Given the error code and symptoms, I'd take it to a transmission specialist for inspection. Ignoring it will cause more damage and expensive repairs.

Thanks for the insight based on your experience. I suspected it, but it's good to hear from someone who's dealt with it. I'll schedule an appointment with a mechanic to inspect the transmission and replace the torque converter. They quoted me around 2120€ for the repair. Thanks again!

I know that issue! I have a 207, though I don't recall the year, and those symptoms ring a bell. Did you notice any change in fuel consumption or engine RPMs when the transmission acts up? The grinding noise was intermittent at first, but then became more consistent. Did you check the transmission fluid level and condition? That might give you clues.
