Peugeot 207 boost pressure fault

I'm writing about a potential issue with my 2013 Peugeot 207, gasoline engine, with 182506 km. I've got a boost pressure actuator fault, check engine light is on. Symptoms are reduced engine power, poor engine response, a whistling noise, a loud hissing sound when accelerating, occasional engine stalls at idle, and elevated fuel consumption. I think it's a defective electrical bypass valve. Anyone seen this?

Sounds familiar. I've got a 207 and had similar issues. Whistling and hissing are dead giveaways. Check engine light too, of course. Was the loss of power pretty noticeable?

The power reduction is quite noticeable. It also feels like the engine is struggling, especially on inclines. Are you suggesting this is likely a faulty turbo actuator valve, or could there be other potential factors?

Could be other things, sure, but with those symptoms, yeah, sounds like the actuator valve. I'd get it checked by a pro. I wasted time trying to diagnose it myself. Bit of a pain to reach. Better safe than sorry, you know?

I appreciate the insight. I will schedule a workshop visit for a comprehensive inspection. It seems the electrical bypass valve was indeed defective. Repair cost will be around 250€. Thanks again for the advice.
