Peugeot 207 camshaft sensor issue

Guys, my 2007 Peugeot 207 diesel is giving me grief! It's got 153k km on the clock, and lately it's been a nightmare to start. Engine power is way down, and I plugged it into a reader, and it's throwing a camshaft sensor error. I've checked the wiring and the plug seem okay, but could that really be the culprit?

I had similar issues with my 207. Camshaft position sensor can cause all sorts of mayhem – rough idling, even stalling. Before replacing the sensor itself, double-check the crankshaft position sensor too. Are you getting any other codes related to timing?

Timing? I haven't seen anything specific about that, just the camshaft sensor. The crankshaft... where exactly is that located? Is it easy to get to on the 207?

The crank sensor is usually near the crankshaft pulley. It's a pain to reach on the 207 without the right tools. Honestly, if you're not seeing obvious damage to the wiring and you're not 100% comfortable, it might be worth getting it looked at by a workshop. Could save you a bigger headache, trust me.

Cheers for the advice! Ended up taking it to a shop, and you were spot on. It was indeed the camshaft sensor connector. New connector, and car's running sweet. Cost me 95€, not too bad!
