Peugeot 207 Cruise Control Issue

Esteemed forum members, I am writing to you today with a vexing issue concerning my 2015 Peugeot 207, equipped with a gasoline engine. The vehicle currently has 54254 km on the odometer. Regrettably, the cruise control system has ceased functioning. The symptoms include an error message displayed within the speedometer, the inability to engage cruise control, and, upon diagnostic interrogation, an error stored within the system's error memory. Based on my initial assessment, I suspect a defective cable or plug connection within the cruise control circuit. Has anyone encountered a similar problem, and if so, what troubleshooting steps did you undertake?

Oh, I feel your pain. I had a similar cruise control malfunction on my 207. What a nightmare! First, did you check the simple things, like the fuses? There's a fuse specifically for the cruise control, and it might be blown. Also, I've read about issues with the throttle body position sensor causing cruise control problems on these cars. Before digging into the wiring, maybe have a look at that. You said you already looked for error codes, can you share what that error code actually was?

Thank you for your swift response. I appreciate the suggestions regarding the fuse box and the throttle body position sensor. To answer your question, the error code retrieved from the ECU was P0504 - Brake Switch A / B Correlation. While I understand this relates to the brake switch circuit, I am uncertain how it directly impacts the cruise control functionality. Could a faulty brake switch indeed disable the cruise control system entirely?

P0504, yeah, that rings a bell! That code indeed affected my cruise control. Your Peugeot is probably doing what mine did, cutting off the cruise control completely as a safety measure. You are on the right path! The fault on mine was beyond my limited knowledge and skills, sadly. I ended up taking mine to a workshop. In my opinion, a workshop might be the best solution for you, if you don't find the fault yourself, of course.

I appreciate your input regarding the P0504 error code and the potential link to the brake switch. Based on your experience and the diagnostic information at hand, it appears prudent to seek professional assistance. I will schedule an appointment with a qualified technician to further investigate the brake switch circuit and rectify the fault. I'll post the final resolution. For now, thank you!
