Peugeot 207 DPF Pressure Issue

My 2013 Peugeot 207 diesel has a warning light, reduced engine power, smoke during acceleration, and a strong exhaust odor at 153187 km. Diagnostics say the diesel particulate filter exhaust pressure is too low. I suspect a defective exhaust back pressure sensor. Has anyone else had this?

I had similar symptoms on my 207. Reduced power and the smell were the worst. Did you try forcing a DPF regeneration? Sometimes that helps clear things up temporarily, but if the sensor is faulty, it'll likely return.

I tried a forced DPF regeneration via the diagnostic tool, but the problem is still there. Since the problem returned, did replacing the exhaust back pressure sensor fix it for you?

Yes, replacing the sensor fixed it for me. The regeneration might work once or twice, but it's just a band-aid. I'd recommend taking it to a workshop; they should be able to confirm the sensor's fault and replace it.

I had the exhaust back pressure sensor replaced at a workshop, and the issue is resolved. The total repair cost was 245€. Thanks for the help.
