Peugeot 207 heavy steering vibration
Summary of the thread
A 2008 Peugeot 207 experienced heavy steering and vibrations, particularly at lower speeds, despite the power steering fluid being adequate. The issue was suspected to be related to the electronic stability system or a faulty sensor. A similar case was resolved by addressing the coding of the steering angle sensor. Upon inspection by a mechanic, the problem was confirmed to be a faulty steering angle sensor, which was replaced, resolving the steering issues.

Alignment problems? Not that I'm aware of. I mean, it tracks straight, but I haven't had it checked recently. Could that really be related to the heavy steering and vibrations? What was the cause of your issue?

Yes, the symptoms were identical. Turns out it was the coding of the steering angle sensor. I would recommend going to a workshop to get it checked.

Thanks for the tip! I took it to a mechanic, and you were right – it was the steering angle sensor! The coding was faulty. They replaced the sensor, and the total cost was 195€. Steering is back to normal now. I really appreciate the help!

I had similar symptoms with my Peugeot 207. Did you ever get any alignment problems?
