Peugeot 207 immobilizer issue
Summary of the thread
A 2009 Peugeot 207 diesel is experiencing an immobilizer issue, preventing the engine from starting. The problem is identified as a potential key programming error, where the ECU fails to recognize the key. The suggested solution is to have the keys reprogrammed by a professional, which resolves the issue after re-flashing the key.

Yeah, the security light is definitely flashing like crazy! I did try the spare key and it's doing the exact same thing. Is there any way to bypass the immobilizer to rule out other issues?

Bypassing the immobilizer is a tricky business and not really recommended unless you know exactly what you're doing. Sounds like both keys are affected, which points to a deeper issue. Get it to a workshop to reprogram the keys or diagnose the immobilizer system. Don't start messing around, as this could cause further issues.

Thanks for the help! I took it to a local shop, and you were spot on. The key programming was corrupted. They re-flashed the key and all good, cost me 45€. Cheers!

Sounds like a classic immobilizer problem. Does the security light on the dash flash rapidly when you try to start it? If so, yeah, likely key programming or a fault in the ignition control module. Have you tried your spare key?
