Peugeot 207 Limp Mode
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Peugeot 207 with approximately 191,817 km is experiencing rough gear changes and has entered limp mode, likely indicated by the powertrain malfunction light. The issue may be linked to a loose connection in the ABS system, which can trigger limp mode by causing consequential faults. The suggested solution is to have the vehicle inspected at a workshop, where the problem was resolved by fixing the loose ABS connection.

Yeah, the powertrain malfunction light is definitely on. When you say similar issues, did you also have the rough gear changes? And did your mechanic mention anything about the control module being involved?

Yes, the rough gear changes were the first sign of the problem. I recommend you take it to a workshop. It could be that the transfer case is not working, but the problem may be rooted in the control module.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to the workshop as you suggested. Apparently, there was a loose connection in the ABS system that was triggering the limp mode. They fixed it for free!

I had similar issues with my 207. By 'transfer case limp mode' do you mean the powertrain malfunction indicator is active? I'm not sure about ABS involvement, but it sounds like your car is going into a 'limp home' mode to protect itself. This limits engine power and speed.
