The diagnosis specifies contamination, though oil sludge is a relevant consideration. Could the filter's condition directly influence the observed oil pressure irregularities? Trying to gauge the urgency here.

Absolutely! These Peugeots are very sensitive. The contamination is not good. Get it looked at by a professional ASAP. Driving with that oil pressure light on is playing with fire, and you might risk further issues.

I appreciate the clarification and concur regarding the potential for escalated damage. An oil change, with filter replacement, fixed it. Total cost was 165€. Thank you.

That's shocking! I have a Peugeot 207 too. Are you sure it's contamination? It might be oil sludge, or a faulty oil filter. Neglecting this could lead to severe engine damage. How often do you perform oil changes, and when was the oil filter last replaced?
