Peugeot 207 oil pressure issue
Summary of the thread
A 2009 Peugeot 207 owner reported an intermittent oil pressure warning light and loud mechanical noises, suspecting low engine oil pressure despite normal oil level and viscosity. Possible causes include a faulty oil pressure sensor or a defective oil pump. Another individual with a similar issue confirmed that a defective oil pump was the cause, suggesting a workshop inspection. The original issue was resolved by replacing the oil pump.

No, I haven't checked the engine bearings. What were the symptoms in your case, and what was the resolution?

The symptoms were identical. The garage confirmed it was a defect in the oil pump. I'd suggest getting it checked out at a workshop ASAP.

Thanks for the insight. It was indeed the oil pump. Cost me 755€ to repair. Appreciate the help!

I had a similar issue with my 207. The oil pressure gauge was going crazy. Have you checked the engine bearings?
