Peugeot 207 power steering issue

Hi, I've got a 2015 Peugeot 207, gasoline engine, with 233631 km. The power steering is acting up. Steering wheel vibrates, handling feels spongy, and I've got an error code. Steering is also heavy, like the power steering fails intermittently. Could a defective cable or plug connection of the component be the cause?

I had similar issues with my 207. Does it feel like you're fighting the wheel sometimes? Check the easy things first: wheel alignment, look at the pressure hose. It could be the steering rack or even the steering pump, but I'd start with the simple stuff.

Fighting the wheel sometimes, yes, exactly! When you had a similar problem, what was the root cause?

In my case, it was a faulty connection. It was causing intermittent power loss to the steering system. Definitely get it checked at a workshop. They can pinpoint the exact connection and fix it. Could save you a lot of money compared to replacing the whole steering rack or pump.

Thanks, I'll do that. Took it to the workshop, faulty connection indeed. Replaced it, cost me 95€. Steering feels normal again.
