Peugeot 207 Problems: Shaking, Unexpected Shutdown and White Smoke

Vehicle starts briefly and goes out again

Hello, I have a Peugeot 207 and I am experiencing several problems. When I accelerate, the car jerks. Also, the vehicle starts briefly and then shuts off again. I have also noticed that the engine shuts itself off and the engine light is on. Lastly, it gives off a lot of white smoke when it is starting and sometimes stalls on its own. Could anyone help me understand what could be causing these problems?

Hello Felix, these symptoms could be due to a number of issues, but a common cause is a faulty fuel system. This could be due to a clogged fuel filter, a failing fuel pump, or dirty fuel injectors. I would suggest starting with the easiest check, which is replacing the fuel filter. If the problem persists, you might need to have your fuel pump and injectors checked. Please remember, these are just suggestions and it's always best to have a professional mechanic diagnose the issue, especially since the engine light is on and the car is producing white smoke, which could indicate a more serious problem. Please update us on your progress. Do you have any other questions?
