Peugeot 207 Reduced Engine Power Fault Code
Summary of the thread
A 2006 Peugeot 207 diesel exhibited reduced engine power, with a diagnostic revealing a fault code. The issue was suspected to be linked to third-party chip tuning done years prior. A similar experience was shared, suggesting that chip tuning can cause ECU problems over time. The solution involved reverting the tuning to original settings, which resolved the issue and restored the car's performance.

The fault code was a generic one related to the ECU, nothing specific. The chip tuning was done quite a while ago, maybe 2-3 years back. Could it really be the cause after all this time?

Yeah, it's possible the chip tuning is finally causing problems. Those things can mess with the ECU over time. I had a similar problem, and it turned out the tuning was the culprit. I'd recommend taking it to a workshop to have it properly diagnosed and potentially reverted to the original settings.

I took it to a workshop, and you were spot on. The faulty chip tuning was indeed the cause. They reverted the settings and cleared the fault code. Cost me 180€, but the car runs like new now. Appreciate the help!

I have a 207 diesel as well. I had almost the exact same symptoms – reduced power and a fault code. Did the auto scanner give you a specific code? It could help narrow down the potential causes. Was the chip tuning recent?
