Peugeot 207 rough cold starts
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Peugeot 207 diesel is experiencing rough cold starts and increased fuel consumption, with an error related to the heating system, likely the PTC heater. The PTC heater is an electric auxiliary heater that helps warm the cabin and engine. The issue is confirmed by another owner who experienced similar problems, suggesting that the PTC heater is the likely cause. The recommended solution is to have it repaired at a workshop, with an estimated cost of around 350€.

Yeah, the air isn't as warm as it used to be when the engine is cold. The error code mentions something about an electrical fault in the auxiliary heater circuit. I'm pretty sure that's the PTC heater. Was it a pain to fix? What was the damage?

Sounds like the PTC heater is definitely the culprit. Mine was a pain because it's buried in the dash. Honestly, I'd take it to a trusted workshop. If it's definitely the PTC heater, expect to pay around 350€ including labor and parts, give or take. Cheaper than freezing your butt off all winter, right?

Thanks for confirming my suspicions! I was hoping it was something simpler. I'll book it in at the workshop to get it sorted. At least now I know what to expect. Cheers!

I had a similar issue with my 207 (petrol, though). Rough starts and the heater seemed weak. The PTC heater is basically an electric auxiliary heater that helps warm up the cabin quicker and assists the engine. Is the air coming out of your vents cold even after the engine has been running for a bit? Does the error code specifically point to the PTC heater?
