Peugeot 207 Turn Signal Fault

Turn signal on my 2008 Peugeot 207 (gasoline engine) is acting up. Getting an error message and it's clearly a lighting fault. Suspect an electrical fault. Car has 188392 km on it. Anyone experienced a similar issue?

Symptoms sound familiar. The error message and lighting fault point to a potential electrical issue. Common cause is a defective cable or plug connection. Have you checked the connections to the signal lamp assembly itself? Corrosion can cause problems.

Thanks for the quick response! I'm not that familiar with car electrics. When you say 'signal lamp assembly,' do you mean the bulb holder itself? Where should I be looking for corrosion?

Yes, 'signal lamp assembly' is the unit the bulb sits in. Corrosion often occurs where the wires connect to the bulb holder and where the assembly plugs into the car's wiring harness. Given your experience and the error being stored, I'd advise taking it to a qualified workshop. Sounds like you need a multimeter to diagnose it fully. A repair like this, if it's a corroded connector, may cost about 95€.

Okay, thanks so much for the detailed explanation. I appreciate the advice and will take it to a workshop. I'll let them know to check the connections. Thanks for the help!
