Peugeot 208 airbag warning light

Help! My 2016 Peugeot 208 diesel's airbag warning lamp keeps lighting up in the speedometer. Anyone else had this? It's driving me crazy!

Summary of the thread

A 2016 Peugeot 208 diesel has an airbag warning light issue, with the light constantly illuminated. This problem could be due to a defective cable or plug connection, particularly under the seats. It is advised to have the vehicle professionally diagnosed and repaired, as tampering with the airbag system can be risky. The issue was resolved by fixing a defective connection at a workshop.

I had a similar issue with my 208. Is it on constantly, or does it come and go? Could be a defective cable or plug connection. Have you checked the connections under the seats? Those are often the culprit.

Thanks for the tip! Yes, it's constantly lit. Where exactly should I be looking under the seats?

Okay, constant illumination suggests a more consistent fault. The connectors are usually bright yellow. But honestly, messing with the airbag system yourself can be risky. Given it could be a cable or plug, it's best to get it properly diagnosed. I'd suggest visiting a workshop.

Thanks a bunch! Took your advice and brought it in. Turned out to be a defective connection as you suspected. Cost 95€ to fix. Appreciate the help!
