Peugeot 208 belt handover issue
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Peugeot 208 with an electric engine is experiencing a belt-handover issue after nearly 300,000 km. The problem might be due to a defective belt tensioner or tensioner pulley. A similar case was resolved by replacing the belt bringer/handover, which cost around 450€. It is advised to have the vehicle checked at a workshop to prevent further engine damage.

Thanks for the quick reply! No strange noises, just that the belt-handover isn't working. How did you end up solving your issue? Was it actually the belt tensioner itself?

Yeah, it turned out to be a defective belt bringer/handover. I had to get it replaced. Cost about 450€ including labour. Better get it checked out in a workshop before it causes more damage to the engine.

Thanks for confirming! I'll get it booked in at the workshop asap. They quoted me 455.0€, which seems about right given your experience. Really appreciate the help!

I had a similar issue with my 208. Belt drive problems are the worst, aren't they? Is it making any strange noises, or is it just completely failed? Could also be the tensioner pulley. Did you check it?
