Peugeot 208 central locking failure

Hey, I'm having a weird electrical issue with my 2017 Peugeot 208 diesel. The doors suddenly won't lock or unlock – central locking is completely dead. Anyone else experienced this? I'm guessing it might be a dodgy door contact signal. I'm thinking maybe the wiring harness or a plug connection somewhere is faulty?

Whoa, that sounds frustrating! Could be a few things, honestly. Have you checked the fuses? And did this start happening after any specific event, like heavy rain or maybe after some work was done on the car? It's just that a faulty door switch or even the door latch itself could cause that, right?

Good shout on the fuses, I'll double-check them. No recent work or crazy weather, though. If it's the door latch, would that completely kill the central locking for all the doors? I was kind of leaning towards a more general electrical issue related to a defective contact signal.

Yeah, if the door latch sensor is sending the wrong signal, it could definitely mess with the whole system. I mean, wouldn't the car's computer be confused about whether a door is open or closed? If fuses are fine and it's not something obvious, it might be worth getting it checked out at a workshop. Electrical gremlins can be a real pain to track down!

Thanks! Appreciate the help. Turns out you were spot on about the workshop visit. They diagnosed it as a defective cable/plug connection in the door, causing the contact signal issue. Cost me 95€ to fix. Not ideal, but at least it's sorted!
