Peugeot 208 Coding Error
Summary of the thread

Yes, I checked the engine diagnostics. The check engine light is also on. The diagnostic scanner pointed to a coding error, but I'm not sure how to tackle it. Did your scanner show the same thing?

Yep, coding error was the culprit for me too! Honestly, I wouldn't mess with the coding yourself unless you really know what you're doing. I ended up taking mine to a workshop. They sorted it out pretty quickly. I think it's the easiest way, no? Did you consider getting help from experts?

Thanks! I appreciate the advice. I took it to a local workshop. They recoded the vehicle and it fixed the problem. Cost me 360€, but at least it's sorted.

Whoa, that sounds familiar! I have a 208 diesel too. An error message in the speedometer, that's exactly what happened to me! Did you check the engine diagnostics already? Is the check engine light on too? What fault code did the diagnostic scanner show?
