Peugeot 208 Cruise Control Failure

My 2023 Peugeot 208, gasoline engine, has developed a really annoying fault. The cruise control just packed it in! Doesn't work at all. The car has about 174571 km on the clock. Plus, there's an error stored in the memory. I did a quick visual check for anything obvious like a blown fuse or disconnected wire, but nothing jumped out. Any ideas where to start looking? Could a dodgy speed sensor cause this, or maybe something to do with the brake light switch?

I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing difficulties with your vehicle's cruise control system. I own a Peugeot 208 as well, and I recall a similar issue arising some time ago. Has the dashboard light come on, and if so, what is the code? It could potentially be a defective cable or plug connection somewhere within the cruise control system's componentry. I suggest you look for damaged wiring.

Thanks for the reply! No dashboard light actually, which is weird. Just the error code when you plug it into a reader. When you had the same problem, was it an obvious issue, or something that needed proper diagnostics? I'm wondering if it's worth just taking it to a garage straight away.

It was not immediately apparent. I was able to resolve the situation by taking my Peugeot 208 to a reputable workshop. The mechanics were able to diagnose the problem with the cable or plug connection of the component. The repair cost was 95€. Given the potential complexity of modern vehicle electronics, I would recommend seeking assistance from qualified professionals to ensure accurate diagnosis and appropriate repairs.

Okay, thanks for the advice. Sounds like I'm best off biting the bullet and getting it checked out properly. I'll book it in with my usual place and hopefully, it's a simple fix like yours was. Thanks again for the help!
