Peugeot 208 Damping Adjustment Malfunction

My 2018 Peugeot 208 with a gasoline engine has a damping adjustment malfunction. I'm getting an error and warning light, and the ride is very bumpy. Diagnostics suggest a defective cable or plug connection. Has anyone else experienced something similar? Thinking of repair cost of 95€.

Sounds familiar. I've got a 208 too. Had a similar suspension issue a while back. The ride felt like I was driving a buckboard wagon. Did you check the simple stuff first, like the connections to the suspension components? It could be as simple as a loose plug.

When you say 'connections,' are you referring to the wiring harness leading to the adaptive dampers, or something else? Any specific connectors I should be focusing on? I've already checked the obvious ones, but perhaps I missed something.

Yep, the wiring harness to the dampers is exactly what I meant. Honestly, after fiddling with it for an afternoon, I just took it to a workshop. Turned out to be a corroded connector. They cleaned it up, and the error went away. Might be worth getting it checked professionally if you're not seeing anything obvious.

Appreciate the advice. I'll double-check the connectors myself, but it sounds like a trip to the workshop is inevitable. Hopefully, it's just a corroded connector like yours was. Thanks again for sharing your experience.
