Peugeot 208 electrical issue
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Peugeot 208 with 169,095 km is experiencing electrical issues, including error messages, flickering lights, and weak engine cranking, with an OBD2 reader indicating low voltage. The problem may be due to a failing battery or a parasitic drain. However, a suggestion to check the battery sensor, which can incorrectly report the battery's state of charge, leads to the discovery that a defective battery sensor was indeed the cause. Replacing the sensor resolved the issue, eliminating the error message and restoring normal function.

Interesting! I hadn't considered the battery sensor. Where is that located, and is it something I could test myself with a multimeter, or is it best left to the professionals? I don't want to make things worse!

On my BMW it was connected to the negative terminal of the battery. It's a small electronic module. Testing it is tricky without the proper diagnostic tools. I would advise going to a workshop.

I took your advice and brought it to my local mechanic. Turns out you were spot on – it was a defective battery sensor! They replaced it for 315€. The error message is gone, and everything seems to be running smoothly again. I really appreciate your help!

I had a similar issue with my old BMW 3 series. Same symptoms: low battery warnings and all. The problem turned out to be a defective battery sensor. The sensor was incorrectly reporting the battery's state of charge, causing the car to undercharge the battery. Check your battery sensor.
