Peugeot 208 emergency call system error

Hey, I've got a weird issue with my 2013 Peugeot 208, gasoline engine. The emergency call system seems to have gone bonkers. I keep getting an error stored in the memory, plus an error message and warning light popping up in the speedometer. I'm guessing it's not a real emergency since I can still drive. Any ideas? I've tried a basic system reset but no luck.

Sounds like a potential telematics module issue. The error memory and dash warnings suggest a fault in the system's communication. Have you checked the cable and plug connections to the module itself? A defective connection could definitely trigger those symptoms. Do you know where the telematics unit is located in your 208?

Not entirely sure where to find the telematics unit, to be honest. Is it something easily accessible, or am I going to be tearing apart the dashboard? Also, would a diagnostic tool give me a more specific error code to pinpoint the problem?

Yeah, a diagnostic tool would give you a more specific error code, which would really help narrow things down. As for location, check under the glove box or near the interior fuse box. Access can vary. Given the symptoms and your initial reset attempt failing, and without the right tools, it might be worth getting a workshop to take a look. A faulty connection is the best case, but module failures can happen. It is a safety feature, after all.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to a local shop, and you were spot on – a dodgy connection to the telematics module. 95€ later, it's all sorted. Appreciate the help!
