Peugeot 208 Engine Control Malfunction

My 2022 Peugeot 208 with a gasoline engine won't start; the engine control seems to be malfunctioning. It has 116794 km. I suspect the battery cable connections are bad. Has this happened to anyone else?

I also drive a 208, and something vaguely similar happened to me. The engine fault light came on, and the engine would struggle to start sometimes. Have you noticed any other symptoms like engine surge or a check engine notification?

Well, in my case, the problem wasn't really solved, but after I cleaned the battery contacts the problem disappeared. Given your engine won't even start I am afraid this might not be enough. Honestly, with those symptoms, I'd consider getting it checked by a workshop ASAP.

Turns out it was a bad battery cable connection, and cleaning it fixed the issue. Cost me 155€. Thanks for the advice!
