Peugeot 208 engine misfire

I have a 2016 Peugeot 208 with a gasoline engine. It's running rough, stalling at idle, the check engine light is on, and it's jerking when I accelerate. It has 202104 km on it. Diagnostics suggest it might be the ignition coil system, maybe a bad cable or plug. Anyone seen this before and know how to fix it?

Sounds like a classic misfire. Have you checked the spark plugs themselves? A bad plug can sometimes mimic a coil issue. Also, what's the engine code the check engine light is throwing?

Thanks! I haven't checked the spark plugs yet. Could a bad spark plug really cause all those symptoms at once? I'll get the engine code and post it soon.

Yep, a bad plug can cause all those symptoms, especially the rough running and jerking. The code will help narrow it down, but given your initial diagnosis and the symptoms, a dodgy coil or its wiring is still very likely. If you're not comfortable diving in, a workshop should be able to diagnose and fix this pretty quickly.

It was a defective ignition coil, caused by a loose cable connection. Cost 95€ to fix. Thanks for the help!
