Peugeot 208 engine power reduced
Summary of the thread
A Peugeot 208 owner experienced a significant reduction in engine power, with an error code indicating a defect in the engine control unit (ECU). The issue was constant, not intermittent. A similar case was resolved by replacing a faulty relay in the ECU, which was confirmed as the solution for this problem as well, costing 120€.

Thanks. It happens constantly, and the error code points to a defect in the engine control unit. Could you elaborate on how you resolved the ECU issue?

Okay, mine was indeed the ECU. I didn't fix it myself, though. I took it straight to a workshop; it's a bit beyond my capabilities. They replaced a faulty relay if I remember correctly. It fixed the issue instantly.

Thank you very much. I took it to a workshop and, as you suspected, the main relay of the ECU was defective. Replacing it for 120€ solved the problem.

Hey, I had a similar issue with my 208. Was it the ECU, perhaps? I remember the engine feeling like it was choking. Does it happen randomly or all the time?
