Peugeot 208 engine stalling check engine light

Hi, I have a 2020 Peugeot 208 diesel with 167571 km on the clock. Lately, the check engine light comes on, and the engine sometimes stalls at idle. Could this be related to a fuel tank ventilation system leak? I've read somewhere it might be a defective activated charcoal filter causing air flow issues and messing with the pressure sensor. Anyone else experienced this?

Hey! I had something similar happen with my 208. Check engine light and all. Was your fuel efficiency also taking a hit? Did you notice any hissing sounds near the fuel tank?

Yeah, fuel efficiency seems a bit off, now that you mention it. No hissing sounds, though. So, you're saying it could be the same fuel tank ventilation thing? What did you end up doing?

Sounds very familiar! I tried looking into it myself, but honestly, these modern systems are complicated. Turns out, it was the activated charcoal filter as well. I ended up taking it to a workshop to get it sorted. Saved myself a potential headache.

Thanks for the info! Seems like a trip to the shop is in order. They've confirmed it's a fuel tank ventilation system leak, most likely the activated charcoal filter. Repair cost is estimated at 275€. Hopefully, this fixes the stalling and the check engine light!
