Peugeot 208 NOx Sensor Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2016 Peugeot 208 is experiencing a check engine light due to a NOx sensor fault, with a possible exhaust leak. The issue may stem from a defective cable or plug connection. While the sensor itself appears fine, checking the wiring harness for damage is recommended. If the problem persists, replacing the sensor is advised, ideally at a workshop to ensure proper installation.

Yes, the DTC specifically mentioned the NOx sensor. I'm leaning towards a faulty connection since the sensor itself seems fine. Did you end up replacing the sensor, or was it something else?

I initially tried cleaning the contacts, but it didn't resolve the issue. Eventually, I had to replace the sensor. Given that you suspect a faulty connection, it might be worth checking the wiring harness for any damage before going that route. But honestly, for the price of the part and the PITA factor, I'd suggest getting it done at a workshop to make sure it's done right.

Thanks for the insight. I'll double-check the wiring harness, but it sounds like replacing the sensor is inevitable. I appreciate the advice, especially regarding the workshop. I've already ordered a new sensor for 95€ and I'll get someone to do the repair.

I had a similar issue with my 208. The check engine light was on, and it turned out to be the NOx sensor as well. I didn’t notice any exhaust leaks though. Was the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) pointing specifically to the NOx sensor, or was it a more generic emission issue?
