Peugeot 208 Oil Pressure Warning

My 2014 Peugeot 208 (gasoline engine) has an oil pressure warning lamp lighting up, plus a speedometer warning light. Car diagnostics shows a stored error. Could this be a faulty engine oil temperature sensor? Diagnostics points to a defective cable or plug connection. Anyone seen this?

I had a similar issue with my Peugeot 208, though not a 2014. Those symptoms – warning light and oil pressure lamp – sound familiar. If the error memory points to the temp sensor, check that first. Before replacing, have you checked the sensor's connections? Wiggle the plug and see if anything changes.

Thanks for the tip! I wiggled the connector a bit, but nothing changed. Where's the oil temperature sensor located in your 208? Maybe I'm wiggling the wrong connector. Also, how did you fix your issue?

Okay, wiggling didn't work. On mine, the oil temperature sensor was near the oil filter. I'd suggest caution and taking it to a workshop. I did the same, and they confirmed the faulty sensor using their diagnostics equipment. They replaced the sensor, and that fixed it.

Thanks so much for sharing! I appreciate it. I think I'll take your advice and head to the workshop. They quoted me around 95€ for the replacement, so hopefully, that solves it. Fingers crossed!
