Thanks for the quick reply! The cooling fan seems to be running normally, kicking in when the engine gets hot. Where exactly is the temperature sensor located on the 208? And how would I go about testing it? Is there a way to check if the thermostat is faulty without taking it apart?

Okay, cooling fan behaving normally rules out a couple of things. The temp sensor location varies slightly depending on the engine, but it's usually near the thermostat housing. Testing it involves a multimeter and checking resistance values against temperature. Honestly, though, given your symptoms, it really does sound like the thermostat. They are known to fail on these. I'd suggest getting it checked out at a workshop, it'll save you time and potential headaches.

Appreciate the advice! I'll take it to the shop and have them check the thermostat specifically. Hopefully, that's all it is. Thanks again for the help!

Overheating and slow warm-up? Sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my 208 (petrol, though). Have you checked the temperature sensor? Also, is your cooling fan running constantly, or not at all? It could be a faulty thermostat, but those symptoms can point to other things as well.
