No warning lights, that's the strange thing! But your 208 had the same steering issue? Was it definitely the angle sensor then? Just trying to get an idea before I take it in.

Confirmation of the precise cause without diagnostics is impossible, but my 208 presented identical symptoms. The repair, involving sensor recalibration, specifically the coding of the steering angle sensor, rectified the problem. I recommend workshop diagnostics.

Thanks a lot for the advice! Took it to a local garage, and it was indeed the steering angle sensor. They recoded it, and the heavy steering and vibrations are gone. Cost me 195€, which isn't too bad. Appreciate the help!

I experienced similar symptoms with my Peugeot 208. Have you checked the electronic stability control system? These symptoms may also indicate alignment problems. Faulty automotive sensors can cause such issues, especially the angle sensor. Do you have any error lights on the dashboard?
