Peugeot 208 wiper failure

I'm having trouble with my 2022 Peugeot 208 (gasoline engine). The windshield wipers aren't working, and there's an error stored. With 269724 km on the clock, could this be a simple wiper motor issue, or something more complex in the steering column wiring?

Wipers gone on a 208? That's not ideal. Did you check the wiper motor fuse? It's a long shot, but worth a look before deeper diagnostics. Do you hear any sound when you use the wiper switch – even a faint click?

Thanks! Yes, the fuse is fine. There's no sound at all when I engage the wiper switch. Does this mean the switch itself has failed, or should I check other things before replacing it?

No sound at all points to the switch or a break in the wiring. Given the error code and mileage, it's likely the switch or its connections. Unless you're comfortable with electrical work, I'd suggest a workshop. It could be a defective cable or plug connection, costing around 95€ to repair.
