Peugeot 3008 Alarm Error

I have a 2016 Peugeot 3008 hybrid with almost 270000 km. I'm getting an error related to the anti-theft alarm system. The error memory stores the fault, and the alarm system is non-functional. I suspect it might be coded to activate the optical locking, which I don't need. Has anyone experienced similar issues?

I had a similar problem with my 3008. The alarm would randomly go off, or sometimes just not arm at all. Did you notice if the battery was fully charged when the problem occurred? It may sound weird, but the alarm control module is very sensitive to voltage drops. Also, have you checked the siren itself? It could be corroded or faulty.

Thanks for the reply. The battery seems fine, but I haven't specifically checked the voltage when arming the alarm. Where is the siren located? I'll check it for corrosion. Is it easy to access?

On my car it was behind the front wheel arch liner. However, if your error memory already points to a coding issue related to the optical locking, I would suggest getting it checked at a workshop. It could save you a lot of time and potential damage. I ended up going to a professional after trying a few things myself.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to a local garage, and they confirmed the optical locking was the issue. They recoded the alarm system, and it's working perfectly now. Cost me 45€.
