Peugeot 3008 Audio System Failure

Hey, I've got a 2018 Peugeot 3008 diesel with about 58k km on the clock. Recently, the audio system completely died. No sound at all, and I'm getting an error message in the system memory related to the head unit. I've checked the fuses, and they seem fine. I was getting intermittent speaker crackle/static noise on some channels before it went completely silent, so I'm leaning towards a faulty display or amp. Has anyone else had similar issues with their sound system?

I had something similar with my 3008. Intermittent audio, then nothing. Given the speaker crackle you mentioned, it does sound like a hardware issue, possibly with the amplifier or the display itself. These head units aren't exactly known for being super reliable. Was there a specific event before that happened?

Thanks for the reply. No specific event that I can recall. The sound quality had been deteriorating gradually over the last few weeks with occasional static. Does this sound like the same problem you had, and if so, how was it resolved?

Yep, sounds identical. Gradual degradation, then total silence. I spent ages troubleshooting myself, but in the end, it needed a new display. The amp is integrated, so any amp issues are usually fixed by replacing the whole display. I'd recommend getting it checked out by a workshop. In my case it costed 725€

Thanks for confirming, that's what I suspected but it's good to hear from someone with a similar experience. I'll take it to a workshop and get it checked. I feared that the display was defective, but I wanted to rule out all of the other possible causes first
