Peugeot 3008 boost pressure issue

I'm writing about a potential issue with my 2020 Peugeot 3008 Hybrid. The check engine light is on, engine power is reduced, and engine response is diminished. There's a whistling noise and a loud hissing sound during acceleration. Sometimes the engine stalls at idle, and fuel consumption is higher than usual. The vehicle has 30134 km on the odometer. I suspect a fault with the boost pressure actuator, possibly a defective electrical bypass valve. Could this be the turbo wastegate or just a pressure sensor? Any advice on diagnosing this problem?

Summary of the thread

The 2020 Peugeot 3008 Hybrid experienced issues such as a check engine light, reduced engine power, diminished response, whistling and hissing noises during acceleration, engine stalling at idle, and increased fuel consumption. The suspected cause was a fault with the boost pressure actuator, possibly due to a defective electrical bypass valve. After diagnostics, it was confirmed that the boost pressure actuator was faulty, and replacing it resolved the issues, restoring the vehicle's performance.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Hey, I've got a 3008 too, and that sounds familiar. I had something similar happen a while back. Check for boost leaks around the turbo. A small leak can cause all sorts of weirdness. Did you check for any error codes?

When you experienced a similar issue, did it also manifest with engine stalling and increased fuel consumption? Also, by 'error codes,' do you mean reading the diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) using an OBD-II scanner? Is the problem more likely to be a faulty actuator or a leak in the system?

Yeah, the stalling and fuel consumption were definitely part of it. By error codes, I meant those DTC things from a scanner. Honestly, at this point, it's hard to say if it's the actuator or a leak. My suggestion would be to take it to a workshop. They'll be able to pinpoint the exact problem much faster than we can guess here.

I brought the vehicle to a trusted local mechanic. After running diagnostics, they confirmed the boost pressure actuator was indeed faulty due to a defective electrical bypass valve. The repair cost was approximately 250€, and the car is now running smoothly again.
