Peugeot 3008 Brake Booster Pressure Sensor Fault

I'm having a weird issue with my 2020 Peugeot 3008 Hybrid. It's done 149923 km. I keep getting an error message and the braking feels really poor, like I have to press the pedal much harder than usual. I scanned it and it's showing an error related to the brake booster pressure sensor. I've been reading online that it might be due to the brake system being bled incorrectly. Has anyone else experienced anything similar?

That sounds painfully familiar! I've got a 3008 too, though not the hybrid. I had almost identical symptoms last year – the weak braking was scary! Did the ABS light come on as well? I spent ages trying to figure it out myself, checking fuses and all sorts. The error codes were a nightmare to decipher. What code reader are you using?

Thanks for the reply! No ABS light, just the generic brake system error. I'm using a fairly basic OBD2 scanner, nothing fancy. It points directly to the brake booster pressure sensor. Did yours specifically mention the sensor too, or just a general brake fault?

Right, no ABS light is a bit different then. Mine did throw up the ABS light eventually. But yeah, the initial error was vague, something about brake pressure. Given that your scanner is pointing to the pressure sensor specifically, and you suspect a bad bleed, it's definitely worth getting it checked out properly. Honestly, I'd bite the bullet and take it to a decent workshop with experience in hydraulic brakes and ABS systems. Could be a faulty sensor, but if the system wasn't bled right, it could cause all sorts of grief down the line. It's not worth messing with your brakes, trust me!

I appreciate the advice. Took it to a local garage, and you were spot on. Turns out the brake booster pressure sensor was faulty, likely due to a previous incorrect brake bleed. They replaced the sensor and re-bled the system. Cost me 90€ all in, but the brakes are back to normal now. Thanks again for sharing your experience!
