Peugeot 3008 Cylinder Pressure Fluctuation

I'm experiencing cylinder pressure fluctuation in my 2016 Peugeot 3008 diesel with 147764 km on the clock. Symptoms include higher fuel consumption, reduced engine power, and the check engine light illuminating. I've scanned for fault codes, but they point to a consequential error, not the root cause. Any ideas where to start looking? I'm suspecting something related to engine knocking, timing belt, camshaft, head gasket or spark plug, but I lack enough information to go further.

I had something similar happen with my 3008 diesel! Higher fuel consumption was the first sign, then the engine started feeling sluggish, and BAM, check engine light. I was pulling my hair out trying to figure it out myself. Did you notice any unusual noises, like a ticking or tapping sound?

Yes, now that you mention it, there's a faint ticking sound, especially when the engine is cold. Did you experience the same ticking, and what was the actual source of your issue?

Yep, that ticking was the key! Honestly, I spent ages trying to diagnose it myself, but I just ended up taking it to a trusted workshop. Best bet is to get it checked professionally before something goes bang!

Thanks for confirming. You were right, it was a minor sensor issue triggering a cascade of errors. No repair costs, just a quick reset at the workshop. Appreciate the advice!
