Peugeot 3008 Defrost Air Distribution Flap Faulty

I'm pulling my hair out! I've got a 2020 Peugeot 3008 with a gasoline engine, and the defrost is barely working. The error memory keeps throwing a "defrost air distribution flap faulty" code. Basically, the heating output is way too low, especially on the windshield. I've checked the obvious stuff – coolant level is fine, and the heater core seems okay, but I suspect the cable or plug connection to that flap motor itself is dodgy. Anyone else run into this gremlin?

That sounds annoying. Just to be clear, is the engine reaching normal operating temperature okay? And have you noticed any strange noises from behind the dashboard when you adjust the temperature?

Good questions! Yes, the engine warms up normally, no problem there. As for noises, now that you mention it, I HAVE heard some faint clicking sounds behind the dash when I first start the car and the climate control kicks in. It's subtle, but it's there. Does that point to something specific?

That clicking definitely suggests the flap motor itself is struggling or the linkage is binding. Honestly, with a potential electrical fault and those sounds, it might be beyond basic DIY. You may want to consider getting it checked by a workshop before you make it worse.

I appreciate the advice! I was hoping to avoid the shop, but it sounds like that's the wisest course. Turns out, the plug connection of the component was indeed defective. 95€ later, it's fixed!
