Peugeot 3008 diesel exhaust pressure sensor issue

My 2012 Peugeot 3008 diesel, with only 31614 km, is showing a warning light. Engine power is down, there's smoke when accelerating, and a strong exhaust smell. Suspect DPF exhaust pressure is too low. Could a defective exhaust back pressure sensor be the issue?

Sounds familiar. I had similar symptoms on my old Renault Megane. Turned out to be exhaust back pressure. Was like a blocked artery. Any error codes showing?

So, the Megane had the same low pressure reading? Was it definitely the sensor, or something else causing the low pressure?

Yeah, low pressure reading. The sensor was the culprit, but get it checked. Could be a blocked DPF. Best to get it diagnosed properly at a workshop.

Thanks. It was indeed the exhaust back pressure sensor. Replaced it for 245€. Problem solved.
