Peugeot 3008 DPF Issue

I've got a 2022 Peugeot 3008 diesel with about 256,000 km on the clock and I'm having some issues. The engine power seems seriously reduced, and I'm getting a lot of smoke when accelerating, which points to a diesel particulate filter issue, right? I've read online that DPFs can get clogged, causing backpressure and these symptoms. Has anyone dealt with this before? Thinking about DPF cleaning vs filter replacement.

Sounds familiar. I had similar issues with my old Volvo a while back. Reduced power and smoke usually point to a problem with the diesel filter. Have you checked for any sensor faults that might be triggering the issue?

Thanks for the input! By sensor faults, do you mean like the DPF pressure sensor? Where is that normally located, and is it something I could check myself, or should I just take it to a shop?

Yep, exactly. It's usually somewhere around the DPF itself. Honestly, if you're not super comfortable with car diagnostics, it's probably best to get it checked by a workshop. Could be a sensor, could be the DPF is genuinely clogged.

Appreciate the advice. I took it to a shop, and it turns out the DPF was indeed defective and needed replacing. Cost me around 1550€, ouch! Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction.
