Peugeot 3008 power loss check engine light

My 2013 Peugeot 3008 (gasoline engine) has reduced engine power and the check engine light is on. I suspect a defective throttle valve. Could this be related to the accelerator pedal module or some other internal electronic malfunction affecting air intake and air flow? The car has 254531 km on it, and I am worried about lower fuel efficiency. Any insights?

Hello, I also have a Peugeot 3008, and I encountered a similar situation not too long ago. The check engine light, the power loss - it all sounds very familiar. Did you notice any issues with engine idling before the check engine light came on?

Yes, I had observed some slight irregularities with the engine idling prior to the check engine light activating. Could you elaborate on how you resolved the problem and whether it involved replacing the throttle valve or addressing a faulty accelerator pedal module?

In my instance, it turned out to be a defective throttle valve, which seems to align with your initial suspicion. I would highly recommend taking it to a trusted workshop for a thorough diagnosis and possible replacement. I hope you get it sorted out soon!

I visited a reputable workshop, and it was indeed the throttle valve, as you and I suspected. The final repair cost came to 265€. The engine now runs smoothly, and the check engine light is gone! Your input was invaluable in guiding me towards a resolution.
