Peugeot 3008 Reduced Engine Power

I've got a 2012 Peugeot 3008 diesel with reduced engine power at 112193 km. Diagnostics pointed to a defective engine control unit. Could a system reset fix this, or is it a deeper electronics issue? I've checked connections, but no luck. Any ideas on ECU problems or repair?

I had a similar issue with my old BMW 5 series. Reduced power and ECU errors. Turned out to be a faulty main relay causing intermittent power supply to the ECU. Check the relay and its connections before you consider more drastic measures.

When you say 'main relay', is that the one directly supplying power to the ECU, or is there another one? Did your BMW have any other symptoms besides the reduced power?

Yes, the main relay that directly feeds the ECU. My BMW didn't show any other symptoms, just the power loss and the error codes. I had to get it checked out by a workshop, and they confirmed the relay issue.

The defective main relay was the problem, causing the ECU malfunction. A replacement and system reset, costing 120€, fixed it. Your suggestion saved me from costly ECU repair. Thanks!
