Peugeot 3008 Smoke Warning Light
Summary of the thread
A 2017 Peugeot 3008 hybrid was experiencing a warning light on the speedometer and emitting smoke when accelerating. The issue was suspected to be related to the exhaust back pressure sensor, especially given the vehicle's frequent short trips. It was advised to have the sensor checked and possibly replaced, as driving with a faulty sensor could lead to further complications. The problem was confirmed to be the exhaust back pressure sensor, which was replaced, resolving the smoke issue.

Mostly short trips around town, to be honest. Does that make a difference? What was your issue, and what did you do?

Yeah, short trips can gunk things up. Mine was the exhaust back pressure sensor, exactly like you suspected. Honestly, with those symptoms and the hybrid engine, I'd just bite the bullet and get it checked at a workshop. You could try cleaning the sensor, but it’s probably toast. And driving with a faulty sensor can mess up other things.

Thanks! Took it to a garage, and you nailed it – exhaust back pressure sensor. Cost me 245€ to replace, but at least the smoke show has stopped!

Smoke and a warning light, eh? I had something similar with my 3008. What kind of driving do you typically do? Lots of short trips, or longer runs?
