Peugeot 3008 Throttle Valve Issue

I'm pulling my hair out! I've got a 2022 Peugeot 3008, diesel engine, just clocked 165845 km. My throttle valve seems buggered and the car's drinking fuel like crazy – higher fuel consumption than normal. Cold starts are a nightmare; cranks forever before it catches. Anyone else seen anything like this? I've been reading about throttle position sensors and throttle body cleaning, but I'm stumped. Could it be the throttle valve or something with the idle? Any ideas before I waste money?

Based on the symptoms, a defective accelerator pedal module could be the cause. Have you checked its electrical connections for corrosion or damage? A diagnostic scan might also reveal relevant error codes. Without proper diagnostic equipment, pinpointing the issue precisely can be challenging.

Accelerator pedal module, huh? That's new to me! Could that be the reason for both the poor starting AND the fuel consumption? Are there any specific tests I could do myself before taking it to a shop? Or does it need proper diagnostic tools?

Yes, a faulty accelerator pedal module can impact both starting and fuel consumption due to its role in controlling the throttle valve position. While visual inspection of connections is advisable, further self-diagnosis without appropriate tools may be limited. I recommend consulting a qualified workshop to confirm the diagnosis and perform the necessary repairs.

Thanks a million for the tip about the accelerator pedal module! Took it to the shop, they ran diagnostics, and you nailed it. Defective accelerator pedal module was the culprit. New one cost me 205€ fitted, and the car's running like a dream. Seriously appreciate the help!
