Peugeot 301 AC Undervoltage Issue

Peugeot 301 (2013, gasoline) A/C not engaging. It blows warm air, and there's an error stored. Suspecting the A/C compressor. Anyone else encountered this?

Hey! I had a similar issue with my 301. Sounds familiar. Did you check for undervoltage? The A/C compressor might be cutting out due to insufficient power. Was the error code pointing towards anything specific, like the AC relay or the pressure sensor?

Undervoltage... interesting. I didn't check that. How would undervoltage cause the air conditioning to fail, and how do I check for this? The error code was not very specific, just a general A/C malfunction.

Think of it like this: the A/C compressor needs a certain amount of power to kick in. If the voltage drops too low, the car's computer might prevent it from engaging to protect the system. A multimeter can help you check the voltage at the compressor and the battery. But honestly, with that error code, it might be worth a trip to a workshop. They've got the tools to diagnose it properly. I took mine in, and it turned out to be a faulty connection causing the voltage drop. They sorted it quick.

Thanks for the insight! I appreciate you sharing your experience. I took it to the workshop. The problem was indeed undervoltage, and the repair cost me 240€. They traced it to a bad wire. Everything is working now. I am very grateful!
