Peugeot 301 Hissing Sound on Acceleration

My 2019 Peugeot 301 with a gasoline engine is giving me some grief. It's done 128k km. Lately, the fuel consumption has gone up, the check engine light is on, and there's a noticeable hissing sound when I accelerate. I'm thinking it might be an air intake leak somewhere. Anyone had similar issues?

I know this issue, something similar happened to my Opel Astra. The higher fuel consumption and the check engine indicator are typical when there is a vacuum leak in the intake manifold. I would also check the vacuum hose. Was the hissing sound present all the time or does it get louder with the engine revving?

The hissing gets louder as I accelerate, especially when the engine is under load. I had a quick look and the air filter box seems fine, but I haven't checked the intake hoses thoroughly. Which vacuum hose did you have problems with?

Okay, that is exactly what happened to me. I suggest you inspect the intake hose first. In my case, it was cracked and worn. To be honest, it is hard to find the exact spot without proper equipment. It's probably best to visit a workshop to get it checked. They can smoke test it to find the leak. Good luck!

I'll get it to a workshop as soon as I can. Sounds like it's probably the intake hose as I suspected. I'll post what happens. It was the intake hose! Replaced and runs like new. Cost me 100€.
