Peugeot 301 Injection Fault

My 2013 Peugeot 301 with a gasoline engine is giving me grief. Injection system faulty, apparently. I'm seeing higher fuel consumption, the engine power is way down, it stalls at idle sometimes, and puffs out smoke when I accelerate. What gives? Could it really be just a defective cable or plug?

A defective cable or plug connection sounds plausible given the symptoms. Have you checked the connections to the fuel injectors and other components of the injection system for any visible damage or corrosion? Also, has the engine warning light illuminated?

I took a quick look, didn't see anything obvious. Where exactly should I be checking? Is there a common failure point on these engines? What am I even looking for, specifically?

Given the complexity of modern injection systems and your observations, it would be prudent to seek professional diagnostics. While a visual inspection is helpful, specialized tools are often necessary to pinpoint the precise source of the malfunction. Continuing to drive with these symptoms may exacerbate the problem.

Yeah, figures. Took it to the shop. You were spot on, defective cable, cost me 95€. Thanks for the advice!
