Peugeot 307 ABS fault
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Peugeot 307 is experiencing ABS failure, traction issues, and an illuminated ABS lamp, possibly due to a speed signal fault. A similar issue was resolved by checking the ABS sensors and ultimately replacing a defective ABS control unit. It is suggested to use a diagnostic tool to confirm the fault and consider professional repair, as the control unit may need replacement.

Thanks for the quick reply. Which sensor was the issue for you, and how did you diagnose it?

Well, it was tricky! The diagnostic pointed to a general speed signal fault, but not a specific sensor. Turns out, in my case, the ABS control unit itself was defective. I tried cleaning the sensors first, but that didn't help. Honestly, after that, I just took it to a workshop. The repair cost me around 1000€, because the control unit had to be replaced. Could be the same for you, but better to confirm before spending the money.

Thanks, I appreciate the information. It seems like the affected control unit is defective in my case too. I will take it to the workshop for confirmation and repair.

Hey! Sounds familiar. I had something similar happen with my 307. ABS light, the whole shebang. Have you checked the ABS sensors? Sometimes a faulty input from one of those can cause all sorts of mayhem. When the car loses its perception of wheel speed, the ABS and traction control go haywire. Diagnostic tool should give you some error codes.
